Window Keizersgracht

For this work, Mahangoe photographed several spots along the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam, on various days and under different meteorological circumstances. From this palette, the artist composed the loose elements with great care thus creating his personal, mystical and meditative interpretation of the Keizersgracht. The work was commissioned by restaurant Foyer, temporarily housed in cultural centre Felix Meritis at the Keizersgracht number 324 and was shown there for several months. The work created, by daylight, an additional magical window on the canal outside while the projection offered a spellbinding dreamlike view by night.
